New Cyber Security Rules Are Here. Is Your Institution Ready?
Ontario’s new cyber security regulation under the Enhancing Digital Security and Trust Act, 2024 came into force on July 1, 2026. In-scope public sector organizations, including school boards, colleges, universities, hospitals, and children's aid societies, have until July 1, 2027 to complete an initial Cyber Security Maturity Assessment and develop and implement a cyber security program.
